Monte R. McGough, 61

Monte R. McGough, 61 years of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Monte was born November 7, 1960, in Celina, Ohio, the son of the late Wesley T. and Rosemary (Jolly) McGough.  Monte was a 1979 graduate of Hicksville High School.  He married Betty Jane Salisbury on June 18, 1983, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Hicksville, Ohio and she survives.  Monte was a laborer most of his life.  He worked at Dietrich Industries and at Eagle Picture.  He most recently was a Transportation Coordinator for PTI serving B & O Railroad.  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Hicksville.  Monte enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching John Wayne movies, following his favorite band, KISS and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.  He was also an avid animal lover.

Surviving is his wife, Betty Jane of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Kay McGough of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Ruth (Bill) Parsons of Hicksville; his fur babies, Leeanna and Kaylee; three nieces, two nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 Antwerp Drive, Hicksville, where a Memorial Mass will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Father Daniel Borgelt officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.  To honor Monte’s wishes the family requests casual attire. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.

Guests must wear a mask always covering their nose and mouth, maintain social distancing, and refrain from contact to keep everyone safe while participating in his viewing and funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the benefit of the family.
