Shirley Jean Rowbotham, 71 years of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Shirley was born March 30, 1951, in Coldwater, Michigan, the daughter of the late Burdette Guy and Mary Grine (Schroll) Lewis. Shirley was a 1969 graduate of Homer High School, Homer, Michigan. She met the love of her life, Mark Alan Rowbotham, discovering that they were both born on the very same day, eight hours apart. They married on September 18, 1971, in Litchfield, Michigan, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Shirley assisted her husband in his construction business, keeping financial records and helping in any manner she could. Shirley loved to play games that kept her mind sharp, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She loved to spend time with her family, creating memories that last a lifetime.
Surviving is her husband, Mark Alan Rowbotham of Hamilton; two children, Kristy Rowbotham of Auburn, Indiana, and Kyle (Brooke) Rowbotham of Angola, Indiana; three grandchildren, Colby and Ayranna Hultman and Damien Johnson; two brothers, Charles Lewis of Coldwater, Michigan and Terry Lewis of Bloomington, Illinois; three sisters, Sue (Bob) Sikora of Bloomington, Illinois, Nancy (Craig) Waid of Marshall, Michigan and Melissa (Bob) Owens of Homer, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; five infant children, all stillborn; one sister, Sandra Gillett.
To honor Shirley’s request, there will be no public visitation or services. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hamilton, Indiana
