Gary Wayne Roberts, 73

Gary Wayne Roberts, 73, passed into the loving arms of his Savior on April 18, 2022, in Texas after a three plus -year battle with cancer. He died as he lived—with tremendous humor, courage, dignity, and faith in the sovereign God who ordered his steps and numbered his days.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his family: his wife of 48 years, Beth Krill Roberts, his son Edward Luther Roberts (Rachel), his four grandchildren, Stephen, Heather, BreAnn, and Connor, and his great-granddaughter, Ivy. He is also survived by his siblings, Carolyn Dooms, Sharon Richardson, Wanda Gal, and Dorothy Mann. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Roberts Whiat, his parents, Luther and Lucy Roberts, and his siblings Mary Riley, Robert Roberts, Benny Roberts, Hazel Eskew, and Nell Johnson.

Gary was born on June 3, 1948, in Crittenden County, Kentucky. After high school graduation he moved to Bryan, Ohio where he met and married Beth. Their time together took them to California and Texas where Gary owned and operated several successful businesses, ending his career in 2008 when he retired from Snap-On Tools.

Gary was a man of faith, and his trust was in his Lord. He had a servant’s heart and was generous with his time and money when people were in need.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (I Timothy 4:7) Gary ran his race with courage and dignity and a supreme confidence that whatever the Lord ordained for him was good and right. He kept the faith. He finished his race. And now he is face-to-face with his Savior. “As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness.” (Psalm 17:15)

For those wishing to make memorial donations, Gary has requested that family and friends honor his memory by donating to the American Cancer Society or Samaritan’s Purse.

Services will be held at Krill Funeral Home in Bryan, Ohio on April 30. Viewing is at 1:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Cody Carnett officiating and burial to follow at Brown Cemetery.

A memorial service in Texas will be May 14, 2:00 pm at Fredericksburg Christian Fellowship, 157 Schmidtzinsky Rd. Fredericksburg, Tx.
