Sharon D. Oliver, 76 years, of Angola, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in her home with her family at her side. Sharon was born on October 23, 1937 in Warsaw, Indiana, the daughter of the late Dale T. and Weltha (Jordan) Hughes. She married Paul D. Oliver on August 21, 1954 in Hamilton, and he survives. Sharon had worked for 20 years, at EMF Corporation in Angola. She loved to sew and also to make doll clothing for her granddaughters. Sharon loved her church, Hamilton Wesleyan Church, and was known for doing all the preparation of Communion. She was also known as a great prayer warrior. Sharon had a deep and abiding love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Paul, Sharon is survived by her five children, Larry Oliver, and his companion Heather Holden of Angola, Indiana, Karen Kurtz, and her companion Chris Fraley of Angola, Indiana, Linda (Kenny) Kintz of Hamilton, Paul Duane (Candy) Oliver of Angola and Suzanne (Frank) Walter Jr. of Angola. 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marietta Lingle of Anna, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margaret Ann Dupree and Betty Haddix.
Visitation for Sharon D. Oliver will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 at the Hamilton Wesleyan Church, 4001 Terry Lake Road, Hamilton, Indiana. Funeral services for Sharon will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 with Rev. David Leitzel officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Cemetery.
