The Correction Center of Northwest Ohio Board agrees to a package of incentives that includes raises, bonuses and a new secure control room as part of ongoing efforts to hire and retain security staff at the regional jail outside Stryker. After a closed executive session, the board agreed to raise starting pay for security staff from $18.62 to $21.39 an hour. It also agreed to provide a $200 dollar attendance incentive for security staff that’s payable every two weeks if that security staffer does not call in sick. In addition, the board agreed to increase the hourly pay of current staff who have one year or longer service by $1 per hour. It’s part of a facility-wide effort to try to hire new security staff and keep current security staff.
