Betty R. Shull, 93, of Hicksville, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Vancrest of Hicksville. Betty was born January 21, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Hazel (Sanders) Carpenter. She married Leland “Bud” Shull on July 24, 1948, in Sherwood, Ohio and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1982. Betty worked as a die finisher at Woodburn Diamond Die for over 25 years. She was an active member of First Church of Christ, Hicksville. In her free time, Betty enjoyed crafting, sewing, and completing jigsaw puzzles. Above all, Betty cherished spending time with her family.
Surviving are four children, Gary (Val) Shull of Hicksville, Ohio, Pam Peter of Hicksville, Ohio, Brad Shull of Hicksville, Ohio, and Jim (Cara) Shull of Defiance, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, George (Norma) Carpenter, Jr. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland “Bud” Shull; two sons, Lyle Shull, and Tim Shull; son-in-law, Lee Peter; two sisters, Mildred Beggs, and Esther Sanders.
Visitation for Betty will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 10:00-12:00 noon at First Church of Christ, 118 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 noon in the church with Pastor Jerold Tear officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood, Ohio. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.
