Esther J. Johnson, 84, of Bryan, Ohio passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at Brookview Healthcare Center, Defiance, Ohio. Esther was born April 15, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Lloyd and Vera (Hay) Silverwood. She attended Waite High School. Esther married Elmer Johnson in January 1984 in Wauseon, Ohio and he preceded her in death. She was a loving mother and homemaker and took pride in taking care of her family. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, computer games, and traveling.
Surviving is her sister, Lois Worstell of Bryan, Ohio; six children, Susan (John) Wainwright of Bryan, Ohio, Robin (Duane) Muszynski of Bryan, Ohio; James (Sue) Whiteman of Bryan, Ohio, David Whiteman of Bryan, Ohio, Edward Whiteman of Bryan, Ohio, and Elmer (Angie) Johnson of Wisconsin; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her husbands, Morton Whiteman and Elmer Johnson; daughter, Debra Wetmore; grandson, Norman “Buddha” Galliher II; great-grandson, Teagan Whiteman; two sister, Ellen Snyder and Nancy Cremer; brother, Larry Silverwood.
Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held at Fountain Grove Cemetery with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio.
