Theresa J. Yockum, 84, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, in her residence. Theresa was born September 12, 1938, in Cecil, Ohio, daughter of the late Henry C. and Vesta L. (Leffler) Shewman. Theresa married Arthur E. Yockum on December 4, 1962, in Sherwood, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2010. She worked as a homemaker, raising and supporting her family. Theresa was a member of the former Assembly of God in Hicksville. Theresa enjoyed playing cards, completing puzzles, going for “buggy” rides throughout the countryside, and shopping. Theresa also loved to cook and bake, with her famous homemade noodles being a family favorite.
Theresa is survived by her five children, Crystal (Paul) Ruder of Hicksville, Karen Speaker of Hicksville, Kathy (Jeff) Holwager of Hamilton, Indiana, David Yockum of Hicksville, and Chuck Yockum of Hicksville; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Arthur; and an infant brother Shewman.
Visitation for Theresa J. Yockum will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral Services for Theresa will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Crane Township.
