Williams County Commissioners discuss levy on November ballot.

The Williams County commissioners again discussed the levy for emergency medical services on the November ballot, addressing concerns from members of the public. The meeting was requested by county resident, Richard Sickel, but also attending were Williams County Recorder Patti Rockey and others, as concerned citizens. Sickel had questions on information presented before by various officials and he said he also felt that there was not enough transparency on the issue. On a question about extending service if the levy passes, Williams County EMS Assistant Chief, Jesse Brumbaugh explained the plan would be to add a third full-time life squad into the operations, which likely would be located in West Unity. A half-time squad would remain in Edon, operating 12 hours a day. Sickel said he felt like the millage amount being asked for approval by voters was too much, and Brumbaugh explained how officials arrived at that amount.
