Marcia Kay Schmucker, 78

Marcia Kay Schmucker 78 years of Bryan, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in the Emergency Room at Parkview Hospital, Bryan. Marcia was born April 25, 1945, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Carmen (Rollins) Brenner. She was a 1963 graduate of Bryan High School. Marcia married Earles J. Schmucker on June 12, 1965, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. Marcia worked for Murray Lash and Friedo Accounting Firm, Murphy’s  Five and Dime Store, packaging produce at Schmucker’s Storage and she also worked in the gift shop at Sauder Village.  She most recently attended Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, Bryan and was a former lifelong member of Pine Grove Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was active in the Kitchen Committee. Marcia enjoyed spending time at Coldwater Lake, and all that the lake offers. She also enjoyed making ceramics and making afghans. She most treasured spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving is her loving husband of 58 years, Earles of Bryan; two sons, Tim (Vicki) Schmucker of Michigan Center, Michigan, and Todd (Stephanie) Schmucker of Archbold, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jordan (Amanda) Schmucker, Jonah (Hannah) Schmucker, and Natalie Schmucker; two great grandchildren, Selah, and Eleanor Schmucker. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marlene Fox.

Visitation for Marcia Kay Schmucker will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. in Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, 1500 Center Street, Bryan, where Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Bill Holsopple officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Lockport Cemetery, Stryker. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, 1500 Center Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
