Williams County commissioners give approval for the county 911 department to apply for a grant.

The Williams County commissioners give approval for the county 911 department to apply for a grant. The board met with 911 Director, Heather Mercer to discuss applying for the grant through North Western Electric’s donation program. She added she will be asking for funding to purchase air filters for the office, desk treadmills or walking pads and two ergonomic chairs for the facility. The commissioners also authorized $38,000 dollars for repairs to the dispatch motorized desks because they currently don’t work properly. Replacing them and other modifications to the room would have an estimated cost of more than $100,000 dollars. The money will come from a fund where revenue is generated from cell phone fees.
