Fred Walker, 81

Frederick M. “Fred” Walker, 81 years, of Bryan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in his residence with his family at his side.  Fred was born January 13, 1933 in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late Millard C. and Marjorie H. (Mossman) Walker.  He married Linda L. Hoffman on August 30, 1958 in Bryan, and she survives.  Fred was employed by the City of Bryan for 10 years.  Prior to this, Fred worked at Challenge Cook Bros. and the former Holabird Corporation.  Fred was an avid John Deere collector and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He found great joy in family gatherings and eating the food that had been prepared and playing any competitive game, whether it be UNO or Corn hole, he played to win.  He also loved his dog and cat, Pooh and Lil Bit.

Surviving is his wife, Linda, Fred is survived by five children, Kathy Harbin of Bryan, Vickie (Dave) Birkhold of Montpelier, Deb (Mark) Oliphant of Bryan, Todd (Tina) Walker of Bryan and Bobbie (Monte) Howell of Stryker; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Scott and one sister, Barbara Kaiser.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Frederick M. “Fred” Walker will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the House of Prayer, 115 Empire Street, Montpelier with Pastor Don Harris officiating.  Private interment will take place in Yackee Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio at a later date.
