Annie L. Cox, 83, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 4, 2024, in her residence. Annie was born September 9, 1940, in Greenville, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Jesse and Ester (Hughes) Greer. She married Benjamin Smith, and he preceded her in death in 1997. She then married Lavon P. Cox on December 31, 2000, and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2012. Annie previously worked at Smith Family Shoe Store, and also at the former Sterling Store as a clerk as well as being a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233. In her free time, she enjoyed watching television, cooking, with meatloaf, bacon and egg salad as her best things.  She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Smith of Bryan, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Jason (Winter) Mendoza of Bryan, Dylan Mendoza of Kent, Ohio, Maria Mendoza of Jonesville, Michigan, Britani Smith of Bryan and Lydia (Nick) Showalter of Montpelier; five great-grandchildren, Lillian Mendoza, Arabelle Iler, Everly Iler, Jackson Bernard, Brycen Bernard and Ellie Pettit with Maeve Iler due later this week.  Annie was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Benjamin, and Lavon; one son, Robert Wayne Smith and one daughter, Debbie Millsap and one brother.

There will be no visitation or services at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
