Don R. “Yogi” Ream, 73

Don R. “Yogi” Ream, 73, of Hillsdale, Michigan, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, in his residence.  Yogi was born January 16, 1951, in Paulding, Ohio, son of the late Raymond L. “Froggie” and Bernice I. (Arnett) Ream.  He was a 1969 graduate of Hicksville High School.  Yogi worked as a greenskeeper at Pond-A-River Golf Club in Woodburn, Indiana, for many years, retiring in 2018.  Prior to working at the golf course, he had worked at International Harvester.  Though, Yogi was not currently a member of a church congregation, he was a believer in Jesus and trusted Him for his needs.

Yogi loved riding motorcycles, golfing, leather work, and playing poker and pool with his family and friends.

Surviving are his two daughters, Dawn Silverman of Austin, Texas, and Melissa (Matt) Tollas of Baroda, Michigan; four grandchildren, Aubrey, Lizzie, Joey and Ayden; three granddogs, Pearl, Goose, and Duck; a great-grandchild, due in March 2025; and a sister, Roberta “Bobbie” (Jerry Wilhelm) Lee of Auburn, Indiana, and a niece, Rae. Yogi is also survived by his sweet girlfriend, Angie Eblin, and was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patty Ream; and a brother-in-law, Mike Lee.

There will be no visitation or services held at this time for Yogi, though his family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.   Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio 43526.
