David N. Buehrer, 77

David Neil Buehrer, 77, of West Unity, Ohio, passed away in his home on November 22, 2024.

David was born October 22nd,1947 in Bryan, Ohio, to Donald and Donna (Myers) Buehrer.

A 1965 graduate of Archbold High school, David married Lynne (Cryer) Schaedler on August 21, 2007 in Horse Cave, Kentucky.

His many life accomplishments are a testament of his work ethic, entrepreneurship, agricultural knowledge, and mechanical skill. David worked at Geiger trucking before starting his own trucking company B&H Industries in the late 70’s.  Additionally, he owned and operated Buehrer and Sons Excavating before retiring into full time farming, his first love.  David and his team wrapped up his farming career harvesting 1400 acres in time to celebrate his 77th birthday this October.

When not working in the fields or for one of his companies, David restored dozens of classic cars.  His talent for this hobby was rewarded in a 2007 issue of Hemming’s Muscle Machines after restoring a pristine 1959 Chevrolet Impala.  He also restored a rare 1957 Corvette which won Bloomington Gold and was chosen to represent the 1957 model year during the 50th anniversary celebration at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky.  A loyal friend, David was also a member of the Sons of the Legion, Jr. Wyse Post 669, West Unity, Ohio.

David is survived by his wife Lynne of 17 years; children, Lisa (Rob) Taylor, Lori (Darrell) Moore, Daniel (Hannah) Buehrer, all of Pioneer, Ohio, Nathan (Marinna) Buehrer of West Unity,  Corporal Nicklas Buehrer of Fort Cavazos, Texas; Bonus sons Joshua (Melissa) Schaedler of Riverside, Iowa, Jason (Brittany) Schaedler of Waldron, Michigan; Grandkids: Anastasia, Brock, Aaron, Samuel, Emma, Chase, Carly, Chloe, Emma, Brandon, Zoe, and David; Siblings Joan (Lynn) Aschliman of Archbold, Janet (Richard) Wright Leoma, Tennessee, Holly Buehrer of Ethridge, Tennessee, and mother Donna (Myers) Buehrer of Archbold.

Preceding David in death were his father, Donald, infant sister Julie, and grandson Zebb.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11:30 am at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate.  The family invites everyone to come back to the West Unity American Legion Post 669 at 120 East Jackson Street at 12:30 pm for a luncheon and a time of storytelling.  Memorial contributions can be made in David’s memory to CHP- Hospice.
