Carl M. Husted, 87

Carl M. Husted, 87, of Sherwood, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at The Gardens of Paulding. Carl was born on May 4, 1937, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Mahlon A. and Esther E. (Bell) Husted. He married Jennetta I. Good on September 23, 1961, in Melrose, Ohio and they were married for 63 years. Carl worked as a welder at Challenge Industries for 11 years and previously at Challenge Cook for 28 years. He had a passion for history and was a member of Auglaize Village. Carl was known as a “Jack of all Trades”: building tractors, muzzleloaders, furniture, and clocks. Many people knew Carl for picking up cans along the roadway. Carl collected over 3 tons of aluminum cans.

Surviving is his wife, Jennetta Husted of Sherwood, Ohio; two sons, Tim (Bernadette) Husted of Defiance, Ohio, and Benjaman Husted of Morristown, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Travis Husted of Stryker, Ohio, and Rosanna Husted of Hicksville, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Cline of Ney, Ohio, and Christena (Harold) Schlatter of Wauseon, Ohio; brother, Gerald (Linda) Husted of Lima, Ohio. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Earl Husted, Larry Husted, and Eddie Husted.

Visitation for Carl will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 E. Elm Street, Sherwood, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Private inurnment will be made at Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville, Ohio.
