A petition seeking to overturn a Delaware Township zoning change made at the request of property owners who want to sell land to a New York-based company for a large manufacturing plant is pending in Defiance County. Earlier this year, trustees approved a request by landowners to rezone various parcels of agricultural property on the township’s east side to heavy manufacturing. The company, First Quality, wants to build a plant just west of Defiance, to manufacture paper products. Residents who are opposed to the development submitted a petition to township trustees seeking to overturn the zoning decision.
