Kent LaMarr Corwin, 68 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at his residence. Kent was born May 26, 1945 in Bryan, the son of the late John Jay and Waiva Marie (McDowell) Corwin. He was a 1964 graduate of Bryan High School. He then furthered his education by attending Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago. Kent worked in Quality Control for ARO Corp as well as New Era for 36 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church, Edon. An avid sports fan, Kent enjoyed fishing, Ford Mustangs, gardening and canning his produce. He was known as an excellent cook and always having a Diet Coke within reach. Kent found great joy in serving others by working in the Food Pantry at Bethlehem Christian Union Church. He eagerly looked forward to his summer visits with his grandson, Ian.
Surviving is his son, Mark (Michelle) Balser and grandson, Ian Balser of Avondale, Arizona; one brother, John D. (Karen) Corwin of Ann Arbor, Michigan; brother-in-law, Fred Brandon of Bryan; sister-in-law, Mae Corwin of Standish, Michigan as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Keith Corwin and one sister, Carolyn Brandon.
Visitation for Kent LaMarr Corwin will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan where Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 with Pastor Michael Slagle officiating. Private interment will take place in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
