David G. Armstrong, 52, of Montpelier passed away Friday night at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on November 2, 1961 in Bowling Green to Gerald G. And Linda L. (Wade) Armstrong. David graduated from Napoleon High School in 1981. He served his country in the United States Army. David married Karen K. Kirkendall on June 11, 1988 in McClure, Ohio and she survives.
David was a member of the Montpelier Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of the Montpelier Eagles. David had been a long haul / over the road truck driver since 2002, working for various companies.
He is survived by his wife Karen; two daughters Mandy L. Sweet of Montpelier and Melissa (Brandon) Bell of Bryan; one son Keith A. Rockwood, Jr and Jenni Himebaugh of Lake Isabella, Michigan; one brother Scott Armstrong and Kevin of Mandeville, Louisiana; one sister Kimberly Armstrong-Brooks of Cincinnati, Ohio; and six grandchildren, Sammy, Kristoffer, Raina, Karmeny, Ryan and Mason.
David was preceded in death by his parents, and two brother-in-laws, Randy L. Kirkendall, Sr. and Pastor Tracy Brooks.
Visitation for David will be on Monday June 30th from 4-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Tuesday at 11am at the Montpelier Church of the Nazarene with Pastor John Rumple to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with graveside rites provided by the Pioneer Veterans. Donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral costs.
