Donna Young, 96

Donna L. Young, 96 years, of Downers Grove, Illinois, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 5, 2014 at Arbor Terrace in Alpharetta, Georgia, where she was a resident.  Donna was born March 16, 1918 in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl L. and Cloris M. (Ward) Schatzer.  She was a 1936 graduate of Bryan High School.  Donna married Hobart D. Young on April 15, 1944 in Bryan, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2013.  Donna was a homemaker, who enjoyed caring for her family and gardening around her home.

Surviving her is her daughter, JoEllen Young of Winfield, Illinois; one son, David (Linda) Young of Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, David (Jana) Porter of Denver, Colorado, Paul (Hayley) Wrezinski of Naperville, Illinois, Katherine (Ryan) Pace of Woodstock, Georgia, Jennifer (Wade) Huffman of Woodstock, Georgia and Danielle Young of Marietta, Georgia; three great-grandchildren, Lainey Huffman, Liam Wrezinski and Anna Katherine Huffman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Hobart.

Graveside funeral services for Donna L. Young will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan with Pastor Ric Beals officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio.
