Mildred Pendleton, 94

Mildred E. Pendleton, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 6:55 P.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Hickory Creek Care Center in Hicksville, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. Pendleton was a 1938 graduate and valedictorian of Farmer High School, where she was also a member of the 1936 state championship girls basketball team. She graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1942 and was employed for many years as a registered nurse at Bryan Cameron Hospital. Mildred was a longtime member of the Ney United Methodist Church, where she was president of the United Methodist Women for many years. In later years she was an active member of Farmer United Methodist Church, Farmer United Methodist Women and Farmer American Legion Auxiliary. She was a great cook, enjoyed gardening and canning, was a talented seamstress, enjoyed quilting, loved to travel and was a wonderful hostess.

Mildred E. Pendleton was born on May 8, 1920, near Farmer, Ohio, the daughter of Benjamin and Eugenia (Goller) Meyer. She married Rex Pendleton on July 6, 1944, at the Naval Chapel in Pensacola, Florida, and he preceded her in death in January 2004.

Survivors include her children, Karon Gautz, of Monett, Missouri, Calvin J. Pendleton, of Farmer, Ohio, Mary C. Pendleton, of Bryan, Lanna J. (Clarence) Hall, of Montpelier, Ohio, Lou Pendleton, of Bryan, and Van R. (Jean) Pendleton, of Fort Mill, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Hill, Nikki (Steve) Campbell, Jenny Pendleton, Lieutenant Martin Pendleton with the United States Navy, Sarah (Eugene) Jones and Annie Pendleton; and five great-grandchildren, Brent Gautz, Kinzie Williams, Tyler and Alex Campbell, and Logan Hill. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, Guy Meyer, Mabel Perry, Lydia Cook, Ann Ensign and Charles Meyer.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Ron Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery.
