The United Way board green lighted a new initiative called the We Care Cabinet. United Way is partnering with area food pantries to add toiletry and personal care items to food packages, reasoning that these are things that sometimes people might skip eating to acquire. The United Way spent 25 hundred dollars to stockpile the startup supply of toilet paper, bath soap, laundry detergent, deodorant, and toothpaste, toothbrushes and shampoo. The food pantries will be able to draw from this supply and they will work to get others to donate more.
