Kenneth A. Mack, 86 years, of Bryan, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance. Ken was born July 23, 1928 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Alexius and Viola (Bohrer) Mack. He was a 1945 graduate of Defiance High School. Ken was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Phyllis A. Warner on November 15, 1958 in Bryan, and she survives. Ken was employed by The Hubbard Company in Defiance, beginning in 1964 until he retired in 1989, at which time he focused solely on farming. Previously, Ken worked at the former Benner Dairy delivering milk. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Defiance Elks Lodge #147, Bryan Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2233 and the Bryan VFW Post 2489. Ken was an avid University of Michigan fan, following their football and basketball teams.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Phyllis of Bryan; one son, Ron (Sarah) Mack of Bloomington, Illinois; one daughter, Holly (John) Doseck of Bryan; three grandchildren, Emily Doseck of Bryan, Shawn (Jennifer) Lane of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jessica (Jesse) Perganson of Bloomington, Illinois; one great-granddaughter, Ava Perganson; one sister, Dee Mack of Defiance; one brother, Lee (Nancy) Mack of Defiance and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Jack and three sisters, Jean Robinson, Wanda Andrews and Marlene E. “Pat” Biler.
Visitation for Kenneth A. Mack will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral Mass for Kenneth A. Mack will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland Street, Bryan with Father Jim Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
