Christmas Store Set To Open

Christmas is right around the corner, and it’s the time of year that folks naturally come together to help others who are less fortunate.

This year, a community service project of the Defiance County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Good Samaritan School, involves a secondhand Christmas store for the free distribution of holiday decorations to area families in need.

Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 1–5 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 6. Now, donations are being accepted for the store. They need gently used Christmas decorations such as artificial tree, old ornaments, and working lights, along with wreaths and other holiday items that will brighten up the holiday for someone less fortunate. Of course, money is also accepted.

You can drop off your donations at 1838 E. Second Street in Defiance, that’s right next to Family Christian Center in the Kroger plaza, between 10 and 2 on Nov. 22; and from 10 to 4 on both Nov. 24th and 25th. Items can also be left at the store during regular store hours on Dec. 1st through 6th.
