Susan Leigh (Ullrich) Birr, age 63, of Montpelier passed away late December 19, 2014 at Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan following a brief illness. Mrs. Birr was a lifelong homemaker and had also worked at Pizza Hut in Bryan at one time.
Mrs. Birr was born in San Jose, CA on December 5, 1951 the daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Beverly June (Hammett) Ullrich. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was of the Lakota Tribe of the Souix Nation. Mrs. Birr was raised in Florida and moved to Ohio when her children were teenagers.
Surviving is her husband Steve Birr of Montpelier, daughters, Geniva Ann (David) Barlow-Culver of Florida, Valerie Colleen G. (Erik) Abelar of Aiken, South Carolina, son Joseph James (Jayeanne) Ervin of Fostoria ,Ronald L.(Lida) Ervin, Jr. of Bryan, Melody and Danay Culver, Mindy Hendricks of Montpelier and grandchildren; David II, Michael, Matthew, Kayla, Daniel, Austin, Barry, Tyler, Breana, Christa, Dalton, Joeanne, Carson, Timothy, Kaylan, Morrisa, RJ, Matt, Ashley, Cheyenne, Zakeric, Kiara and Michael and 11 great-grandchildren. Siblings Cherri of Victorville, CA, David of Montpelier, Tess of Spokane, WA, Renee of Texas, Tammy of Texas, Lee of Washington and Joseph Whitebear Ullrich of South Dakota also survive.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday December 24, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bryan. Arrangements have been entrusted the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.GrisierFH.com.
