Shelley Howard, 52

Shelley K. Howard, 52 years, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, after an extended illness. Shelley was born on January 3, 1963 in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of Bryce and Judy (Showman) Travis. She was a 1981 graduate of Bryan High School and obtained her bachelor and master degree in psychology from Bowling Green State University. Shelley married Kevin Howard on April 30, 2001 in Grand Rapids, Ohio, he preceded her in death in 2012. Following college she practiced as a social worker until her health declined. Shelley was an avid camper and enjoyed the outdoors. She also found enjoyment in cooking for others.

Surviving is her mother, Judy Travis of Bryan; one brother, Michael Travis of Bryan; two nieces, Madison Travis and Mackenzie Kos both of Bryan; one nephew, Tyler Travis of Bryan; two aunts, Kay Showman and Judy Leininger both of Liberty Center. Shelley was preceded in death by her husband, her father, her maternal grandparents Marvin and Ruth Showman, and paternal grandparents Julian and Lura Travis.

There will be no visitation. Graveside funeral services will be held at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Neapolis, Ohio. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
