L.G. Leu, 90 years, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his residence with his family at his side. L.G. was born January 16, 1925, in Tedrow, Ohio, the son of the late Lloyd and Mabel (Bernath) Leu. An Army veteran, L.G. married Ruth M. Springer on March 22, 1952, in Manchester, Indiana, and she survives. L.G. was a salesman for the former A.S. Mignery Candy and Tobacco Company. After the company closed, L.G. then went to work for SWD in Lima, Ohio. He also helped at Stan Pepple Chevrolet and drove many people to appointments and meetings. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, where he served as a deacon and on the church council. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and their activities.
Surviving is his wife, Ruth of Bryan; one son, Tim (Pat) of Canal Winchester, Ohio; one daughter, Cathy Leu of Bryan; two grandsons, Adam (Jessica) Leu of Lancaster, Ohio and Aaron (Tricia) Leu also of Lancaster, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Malachi, Hannah and Sarah Leu, with another great-grandchild due this fall, and Nehemiah, Zayin and Ezekiel Leu. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Anna Rose Lantz and Wahneta Vonier.
Visitation for L.G. Leu will be held Friday, March 27, 2015, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 509 Center Street, Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith Gunn officiating. Private interment for the immediate family will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Bryan. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
