Everett Dale Metcalf, Jr., 67, of West Unity passed away Saturday morning at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Montpelier. He was born on May 3, 1947 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Everett Dale and Mary Alma (Clevenger) Metcalf, Sr. Everett graduated in 1966 from Jonesville, Michigan High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 199th Light Infantry Unit during the Vietnam War. On July 11, 1969 he married Linda J. Coleman and she survives.
Everett retired from Hillsdale Tool in Hillsdale, Michigan as a quality control engineer after 33 years. He was an avid golfer and had a love for motorcycles. Everett enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and was very proud of what and who they were. He spent his winters in Camden, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Theresa Lee (Ron) Handy of Seymour, Tennessee; one son Everett Dale (Michelle) Metcalf, III of Neuiberia, Lousiana; one sister Mary (Willliam) Neuman of Bellmont, North Carolina; two brothers, Robert (Diane) Metcalf of Coldwater Lake, Michigan and Steven (Sandy) Metcalf of Coldwater, Michigan; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Clarence L. Metcalf.
Visitation for Everett will be on Wednesday, April 15th from 2-4pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A Celebration of Life service will be on Wednesday at 4pm at the funeral home with Pastor John Lillie to officiate. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
