Arthur L. Robinson, 89 years, of Bryan, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Genesis HealthCare, Bryan Center, where he had been a resident. Art was born February 24, 1924 in Swanton, Ohio, the son of the late William A. and Della (Ducat) Robinson. An Army veteran of WWII, Art was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received in the line of duty. He married Gloria Rose Slayton on January 31, 1943 in Swanton, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1990. Mr. Robinson had worked for Duncan Industries in Bowling Green, Ohio for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed tending to his garden and caring for his lawn.
Surviving are his seven children, Arthur C. (Ruth) Robinson of Temperance, Michigan, Jeanne (Tony) Wieczorek of Bryan, Bill (Judy) Robinson of Toledo, Bonnie (Karl) Rathburn of Carthage, North Carolina, Mike Robinson of Bryan, Kim, also known as Abe Robinson of Wauseon, Ohio and Inamarie (Raymond) Sheets of Helena, Ohio; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, three grandsons, Anthony Wieczorek, Jr., Baby Michael and Charles L. Wieczorek; three sisters, Helen Robinson, Doris Morgan and Hazel Robinson; five brothers, Jim, Al, Virgil, Don and Clyde Robinson.
There will be no visitation and services will be private for the family. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.
