David worked for Aro Corporation and then became a truck driver, which he loved. He had the fortune to drive for Jones Transfer, General Highway Express, and Nations Way. After retiring from trucking, he became a Bryan City Schools bus driver and drove for 12 years. The last three years he drove the handicap bus, which was dear to him. The children on the route really touched his heart. He was also able to fulfill a lifelong dream of starting a farm 26 years ago, which gave him much satisfaction. He also loved to buy all kinds of treats for the grandchildren!
Visitation for David will be held from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the United Brethren Church in Stryker, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, with Pastor Nick Woodall, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Boys Town, the Cherry Street Mission or Mercy Autism Services CHIP Program. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
