Robert C. Treace, Jr., 66, of Montpelier died Sunday morning at his home. He was born on September 4, 1946 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert C. and Cecle O. (Workman) Treace, Sr. He married Marilyn K. Minton on March 31, 1966 in Fort Wayne, Indiana; she preceded him in death on April 29, 2007.
For eight years Robert owned and operated The Lighthouse in Marathon, Texas, a plumbing and electrical sales and service business. This was a family business that he had with his wife and son. He was also a service mechanic in the Fort Wayne area for a number of years, working on semi’s and “ditch witch” trenchers.
Robert is survived by one son, Rob (Rhanda) Treace of Bedford, Ohio; three brothers Hayworth “Skip” (Elva)Treace, Sr. of Montpelier, Steve (Genny) Treace of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Amos (Ginny) Treace of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren Cheyenne Treace and Tyler Treace.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn, and his infant twin brother Rolan.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday May 24 from 2-4 pm and from 5-7 pm, with a memorial service immediately following at 7 pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Pastor Robert E. Treace will officiate services. Robert will be laid to rest next to his loving wife at Waterford Cemetery in Waterford, Ohio. Donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Diabetes Association.
