Charles Walls, 85

Charles E. Walls, 85 years, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, where he had been a patient.  Chuck was born July 24, 1927 in Effingham, Illinois, to the late Sanford and Bernice (Becker) Walls.  He served in the National Guard for four years.  He married Rosemary Eileen Shadwell on August 31, 1946 in Effingham, Illinois, and she survives.  Chuck had worked for Bard Manufacturing for 34 years, retiring in 1999.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and watching NASCAR.  He followed Dale Earnhardt until his passing and then he was an avid Dale Earnhardt Jr., fan.

Surviving is his wife, Eileen of Bryan; four daughters, Jo Ann Wernsing of Bryan, Kay (Tom) Brown of Gallipolis, Ohio, Patsy (James) Moon of Montpelier and Beth (Steve) Youse of Concord, California; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Ray, Terry, Dale and Billie Walls and two sisters, Dorothy Walls and Carrie Walls.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home – Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan.  Services and interment will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family of Charles E. Walls.
