A local cleric in Deshler has been detained and accused of two felonies linked to child sexual assault.  Deshler police have charged 52-year-old Christopher Walter with first-degree misdemeanor grooming and second-degree criminal sexual battery.  He allegedly had sex with a young girl, according to the charges. His case was transferred to a Henry County grand jury after he forfeited his right to a preliminary hearing in Napoleon Municipal Court. The municipal court established a $30,000 cash bond with a 10% allowance clause, a condition for GPS monitoring, and no contact order.
