A request for roadside assistance results in an OVI arrest

A request for roadside assistance Thursday night around 11:30 p.m results in an OVI arrest. Someone called the Bryan Police Department to report a vehicle with a blown tire was on the side of the road in the 1400 block of Ohio 15, just north of Bryan. The first officer on the scene noted a string of shattered mailboxes and a damaged firhydrant in addition to the disabled vehicle. The Bryan Fire Department responded around 11:40 p.m. Whether the blown tire was the cause or result of the accident has yet to be determined but the driver, 24 year old Kayla Hammond of Montpelier, was arrested and charged with OVI and failure to control. She was released to a family member.
