Alan D. Scott, 62

Alan D. Scott, 62, of Waterloo, Indiana passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at his residence.  Alan was born November 9, 1958 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Clair E. and Edna (Windhorst) Scott.  He was a 1977 graduate of Hicksville High School, and then entered the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1977 to 1981.  Alan married Dorinda K. Russell on August 19, 1978 in Hicksville, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2008.  After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Alan worked for Johns Manville, Foamex, Covington Box & Packaging and TI Automotive.  Alan was a former member of Hicksville Eagles Aerie 2256, and the Hicksville American Legion Post 223.  In his free time, Alan loved ghost hunting, woodworking, model building, fishing, and collecting rocks and Coca-Cola antiques.

Alan is survived by his two children, Charles (Stephanie Lewandowski) Scott of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, and Chelsea (Dustin) Miller of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Anakin Scott, Kayla Strawser, McKenna Miller and Ethan Miller; one great-grandchild, Aria; one brother, Kim Scott of Butler, Indiana; two sisters, Karen Scranton of Hicksville, Ohio, and Gail Scott Phillips of Edgerton, Ohio.  Alan was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Dorinda; brother, Terry Scott; and sister Trilby Schohl.

Visitation for Alan D. Scott will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.  Funeral services for Alan will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Celebrant Patricia Peter officiating.  Internment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Hicksville American Legion Post 223.
