Annual “Lights for Lives” traffic enforcement effort demonstrates impact of coordinated policing across NW Ohio.

The 14th annual “Lights for Lives” traffic enforcement effort once again demonstrated the impact of coordinated policing across northwest Ohio. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Findlay District partnered with agencies in Williams, Fulton, Lucas, Defiance, Henry, Wood, Putnam, Paulding, Hancock, Van Wert, Allen and Hardin counties for the two-day operation, which encourages officers to activate their overhead lights and stop vehicles committing traffic violations in an effort to save lives. The campaign began at 6 a.m. on Nov. 24 and continued through 6 a.m. on Nov. 26, marking the start of the holiday travel season. During the 48-hour period, officers reported stopping nearly 692 vehicles and issuing 230 citations.
