Like Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz, there’s no place like home…John Schoenhals will be moving a little closer to home when he takes over as the new Williams County Ohio State University Extension executive director. Schoenhals, who will start on June 1, is replacing former executive director Florian Chirra, who passed away April 11 following a battle with cancer. Schoenhals currently works as the executive director and agriculture and natural resources educator in Lorain County in northeast Ohio. Coming to Williams County will bring him and his wife closer to the Archbold area, where they both grew up on farms. In addition to being the extension director, Schoenhals will also work as the agriculture and natural resources educator.
