Area Unemployment Rates Listed

Unem­ploy­ment in the six-county area, accord­ing to fig­ures just released by the Ohio Depart­ment of Job and Fam­ily Ser­vice, remained mostly unchanged from Octo­ber to Novem­ber.

All of the local coun­ties had unem­ploy­ment rates below both the national and state rates of 5.5 per­cent and 4.5 per­cent respec­tively. The high­est unem­ploy­ment rate in the region was Ful­ton County with 4.4 per­cent. Put­nam County had the low­est rate at 3.5 per­cent.

Other coun­ties showed up as fol­lows…

Defi­ance County and Williams County, and Henry County all came in at 4.0 per­cent; Pauld­ing County, 3.8 per­cent; Ful­ton County, 4.4 per­cent.

Put­nam County by the way, was one of only six coun­ties in the state with an unem­ploy­ment rate at or below 3.5 percent.
