Audrey Marie Walk, 89 years, of Sherwood, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in her residence. Audrey was born July 4, 1923 in Perry County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Vance and Gertrude (Schroeder) Higgins. She married Frank Wojcinski and he preceded her in death. She then married Ralph Bishop on April 11, 1975 in Swanton, Ohio and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1980. Audrey married John M. Walk on March 20, 1982 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Delaware Bend, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 1991. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Delaware Bend and the Altar & Rosary Society. She also was a member of the YMCA in Bryan. Audrey enjoyed music of all varieties, making porcelain dolls, attending events at church and being active and exercising. In her younger years she loved to roller-skate and swim.
Surviving are her five children, Mark (Lauri) Wojcinski of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Randolph (Cindy) Bishop of Defiance, John Walk of Sherwood, Jerry (Mary Ellen) Walk of Antwerp and Ted (Carolyn) Walk of Sherwood; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Higgins of Toledo and one sister, Mary Smith of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her three husbands, two children, Regina Thomas and Mark Bishop, one great-grandson, Bo Chamberlain, two sisters, Ruth Werner and Roberta St. Clair and one brother, Ralph Higgins.
Visitation for Audrey Marie Walk will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 in St. Isidore Catholic Church 16166 Speaker Road, Defiance with Father Robert Kill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
