Defiance City Schools officials reported a vague threat by a middle school student. A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with inducing panic, making false alarms, menacing and intimidation. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Stryker, pending a court date.

A rural Defiance man enters a plea to two child sexual abuse charges in Defiance County. Bruce Sheets will wait for a pre-sentence investigation…his bond was continued. Sentencing is scheduled for March 29. Sheets had sexual contact with a female juvenile in 2015 and 2016.
