Barbara Jean Smith Creek, 81

Barbara Jean Smith Creek, 81 years, of Montpelier, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Barbara was born April 14, 1937 in Fayette, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Mary Ellen (Ford) Smith. She married Norman L. Creek on June 4, 1955 in Fayette, Ohio and he survives. Barbara worked for Sauder’s in the Quality Control Department for 15 years. Prior to this, Barbara served as a Line Operator for the telephone company. She was an ordained Minister of the Nazarene Church and was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barbara enjoyed playing computer games, reading, camping, being outdoors in general and flower gardening. She truly treasured the time she could spend with her husband and family.

Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Norman of Montpelier; four children, Kevin (Denise) Creek of Orlando, Florida, Roxanna Draggoo of Fremont, Indiana, Lonnie (Cindy) Creek of Montpelier and Renee (Tracy) Egolf of Larwill, Indiana; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Danny (Jill) Smith of Fayette, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Barbara Jean Smith Creek will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity where a Daughters of the American Revolution service will begin at 7:45 p.m. Thursday evening. Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 in the funeral home with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
