Barbara Kurtz, 59

Barbara Jean Kurtz, age 59, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient. She was a homemaker and graduated High School through James Madison University.

Barbara was born May 17, 1955, in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of John G. and Nina M. (Ledyard) Throne. She married Edward J. Kurtz on January 30, 1976 and he preceded her in death. Barbara is survived by her sons, John E. Kurtz, of Bryan, Robert L. Kurtz, of Florida, Joseph V. (Jackie) Kurtz, of Defiance, Dale T. Kurtz, of Bryan and Phillip J. Kurtz, of Bryan; grandson, Kevin M. Kurtz, of Pulaski; step grandsons, Cody and Travis Jenkins, both of Defiance; great grandson, Nycholaas McConnell, of Perrysburg; step mother, Dorothy Throne, of Paulding; brothers, Gale Throne, of Statesboro, Georgia and Jeffery (Bonnie) Throne, of Milan, Illinois; sisters, Karen (Rick) Hippenstiel, of Point Verda Beach, Florida and Shirley Fogleman, of Papua, New Guinea and a special friend, Dawn Tocaciu, of Bryan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step granddaughter, Ashley Jenkins and a sister, Janell Throne.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Community Church in Bryan in the near future. Krill Funeral Service in Bryan has been entrusted with Barbara’s arrangements.
