Barbara Warncke, 81

Barbara A. Warncke, age 81, of Wauseon passed away Friday April 24, 2015 at St. Luke Hospital in Maumee. Prior to her retirement she had worked for the former Sterling Milk Company in Wauseon as well as being a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Barbara was born on November 12, 1933 in Jewell, Ohio, the daughter of Otto C. and Nora O. (Travis) Meyer. She married Lester Warncke and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church where she had been active in the Ladies Guild. Barbara was a skilled seamstress and quilter.

Surviving are three sons, Mitchel (Ginger) Warncke, Jeff Warncke, and Todd (Amy) Warncke, all of Wauseon; two daughters, Robin (Mitch) Weinstock of San Diego, California and Joni (Scott) Goldsmith of Wauseon; grandchildren, Rachel (Michael) Drenning, Nicole Goldsmith, McCormick Warncke and Eli Warncke. Also surviving are two brothers; Clarence (Jean) Meyer of Defiance, Otto (Helene) Meyer, Jr. of Jewell and sisters-in-law, Genevieve Meyer of Jewell, Joyce Meyer of Sun City, California and Delores Warncke of Wauseon. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, Lester were brothers Mervin, Kenny and Willy and sisters; Lenore and Alois and brother-in-law Richard Warncke.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the St. Luke Lutheran Church with Pastor David Goehmann officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or St. Luke Ladies Guild or the charity of the family’s choice.
