Beth A. Hasch, 59 years, of Defiance, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at The Toledo Hospital with her family at her side. Beth was born May 22, 1957 in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Darwood and Juanita (Hohenberger) Swary. She was a 1975 graduate of Fairview High School. Beth enlisted in the United States Navy, where she served for six years. She then attended Northwest State where she received her Associates Degree in Accounting. Beth was most recently a Corrections Officer for CCNO for the past 15 years. She had also worked at Midwest Quality Machine and Manufacturing and Johns Manville. She was a member of Rose Hill Church of God near Paulding. Beth enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was known to be a “social butterfly” and loved to be around people. Beth loved to visit her son in North Carolina. She found peace and tranquility at the beach when she visited her son.
Surviving is her son, Cpl. Jason (Kayla) Hasch, USMC of Camp LeJuene, Jacksonville, North Carolina; Stepfather and Stepmother, Lavon (Mary Lou) Speiser of Sherwood; two brothers, Leon Elling of Cecil, Ohio and Alan Swary of Defiance; one sister, Cathy (Vincent) Bennett of Cecil, Ohio; one niece, Melissa Swary of Cecil, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Beth A. Hasch will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood. Funeral services for Beth A. Hasch will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Ron Hofacker officiating. Interment will follow in Rochester Cemetery, Cecil, with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Sherwood VFW Post 5665.
