Betty Lu Borer, 90, of Pioneer, Ohio, went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 15, 2024. She was born on August 12, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to William Orthell and Jessie Pearl (Chrisman) Clements, Sr. Betty Lu graduated from Pioneer High School in 1951 and went on to attend Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio, studying accounting. On June 7, 1966 she married Myron J. Borer in Toledo and he preceded her in death in 2007.
Betty Lu worked as a book keeper for Superior Type Setting in Toledo until it’s closure, then worked for Royster Fertilizer in Toledo. She was a member of Faith Covenant Bible Church in Osseo, Michigan. Betty Lu was a very devoted Christian, always reading and studying the Bible. She was a Sunday school teacher and played piano for Northend Baptist Church in Toledo, doing so for over 20 years. Betty Lu especially loved gospel music and was very involved with the Toledo Baptists.
Betty Lu is survived by her sister, Jessie Grimm of Pioneer; step children, Bonnie Borer of Toledo, Rosemary Yantiss of Walbridge and Susan (Dave) White of Toledo; step daughter-in-law, Sandy Borer; step son-in-law, Robert Freeman of Florida; sister-in-law, Floreaca Clements of Pioneer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron J. Borer; siblings, William (Nancy) Clements, Jr., Lydia (Frank) Wilson and John B. Clements, Sr.; and step children, Patricia Webster, Robert Borer and Geraldine Freeman.
Betty will be laid to rest in a private service at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Betty Lu’s memory to Faith Covenant Bible Church in Osseo, Michigan.
