Beverly Malcolm Gunter, age 75 years, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 28, 2014. Beverly was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 6, 1938, the daughter of William “Bill” and Gertrude (Johns) Malcolm. She graduated third in her class form Southwest High School in Atlanta, Georgia on May 29, 1957. Beverly married Ronald D. Gunter, Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia on June 1, 1957. They were married for 32 years, and he survives. She was a member of New Hope Community Church in Bryan, Ohio, where she was actively involved in Precepts Women’s Bible Study and Primetime. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her two sons, Denny (Sheila) Gunter of Bryan, Ohio and David (Kim) Gunter of Cumming, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kristin (Jake) Long and Kelly (Lance) Theobald, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, Hannah and Parks Gunter of Cumming, Georgia and one great-granddaughter, Lucy Rose Long of Charlotte, North Carolina. Additional survivors include one brother, Ray (Diane) Malcolm of Thomaston, Georgia; two sisters, Gloria (Hugh) O’Neal of Decatur, Georgia and Sandra (Jim) Harman of Hartwell, Georgia; 12 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one younger sister, Debbie Wirth.
Visitation for Beverly will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Georgia where funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Randy Rhye officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee Memorial Gardens. Local arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
