The Bryan Board of Public Affairs on Tuesday voted unanimously to hire a familiar face as Bryan Municipal Utilities’ next director. 56 year old Kevin Maynard worked with the local utility provider from 1980 until 1997 – starting as a drafting technician and working his way up – when he left the area for a similar position in Austin, Minnesota. Maynard returned to northwest Ohio in 2005 to take a job as the City of Bowling Green’s director of public utilities. He retired from that position in 2011. He currently sits on the board of trustees for American Municipal Power, a wholesale power supplier to which BMU is associated, and is also the board secretary.
