Bryan Board of Public Affairs to end city-provided email.

The Bryan Board of Public Affairs (BPA) has passed a resolution to end city-provided email service, and heard from a resident that doesn’t like the decision. According to the Bryan Times, during the last BPA meeting, Bryan Municipal Utilities Director Derek Schultz proposed ending the email service due to the server being used reaching its end of life. He said the costs to upgrade and manage the system isn’t worth it considering the declining number of users. Customers still using the email service from BMU will have until July 31 to switch. Prior to this vote, resident Bill Metz, who has approached BPA and council several times asking for the video recordings of meetings to be reinstated, spoke to BPA again on the matter.
