Bryan City Schools decides to do away with floats during this year’s homecoming festivities. Officials say the decision to do so wasn’t easy but it was the logical choice. Homecoming, which will be the weekend of Sept. 29, will instead have special backdrops…in the form of two pieces of plywood with hinges that will open up and have a backdrop students can take a picture with. The event will be open to all students K-12 as well as the community as a way to bring people into the facilities in a non-sports way, officials add.
