Bryan Rapist Sentenced

A Bryan man who raped a men­tally hand­i­capped per­son, was sen­tenced Wednes­day in Williams County Court to 11 years behind bars. 54 year old Ricky Rothen­buh­ler pleaded guilty last month to rape, and fail­ure to notify author­i­ties of a change in address. Rothen­buh­ler was already a reg­is­tered sex offender fol­low­ing a 1988 con­vic­tion in a rape case in Defi­ance County. Now, fol­low­ing his lat­est con­vic­tion, he will be clas­si­fied as a Tier III sex­ual offender for life and must reg­is­ter his address with the sheriff’s office every 90 days once he’s released from prison. He has a lit­tle head­start… he received credit for 87 days that he has already served.
